Monthly RV maintenance checklist

Tick boxes on screen or print a clean copy.

Fifteen minutes a month catches small problems before they become expensive. Use it during the camping season, and in storage if you can reach the RV.

Safety

Propane/CO alarm tested
Smoke alarm tested
Fire extinguisher gauge in the green
Propane fittings sniff-check / leak solution on any suspect joint

Batteries & electrical

Battery voltage / state of charge checked
Terminals clean and tight; corrosion removed
Flooded batteries: electrolyte level topped with distilled water as needed
GFCIs tested
Shore cord plug and inlet: no discoloured or burnt pins

Tires & running gear

Tire pressures (cold)
Sidewalls checked for cracks or bulges
Lug nuts visually checked
Hitch hardware and safety chains inspected
Trailer 7-way plug clean

Roof, seals & exterior

Roof seals visually checked (from ladder)
Vent lids and skylights uncracked
Window and door seals OK
Slide seals clean and conditioned
Awning fabric and arms OK
Any new water stains inside?

Plumbing

No leaks under sinks / behind toilet
Pump doesn't cycle with taps closed
Toilet seal holding water; conditioned
Tank sensors reading reasonably; tank treatment added

Appliances

Furnace / water heater / fridge vents clear of nests
A/C filters cleaned (cooling season)
Fridge cooling well (thermometer check)
Range hood filter cleaned

Slides & leveling

Slides operated in and out (if in storage, per manual)
Mechanism free of debris
Jacks/stabilizers extended, retracted, inspected
